Throughout the entire season, the righty averaged one strikeout per inning, fanning 13 batters on the season. Andrew's first appearance of the year was his first scoreless outing against No. 8 Baylor on Feb. 20 in the bottom of the 10th, when Pacific lost 2-1 in extra innings. Mintun's longest outing of the year came on the road against Gonzaga on March 20, when he tossed 2.0 innings and only allowed one run off three hits.<b>2008 (Sophomore):</b><br>Andrew led all Pacific pitchers during the 2008 season with the lowest ERA on the roster with a 3.60, and hitters who faced him could only manage a .184 average. In his first three appearances, Mintun tossed 3.2 scoreless innings and proved he was ready to move out of the bullpen, earning a starting nod on April 8 against Nevada. In that game, he recorded his first victory of the year after dominating Nevada 14-3. Mintun's second win came out of the bullpen when Pacific outlasted Santa Clara 11-7 on May 7. Mintun finished out the season with a 2-0 record. Andrew's longest outing of the year came against Cal State Northridge on May 16, when he tossed three innings, allowed two earned runs and struck out two to earn his only save of the year in the 17-5 win.<b>2007 (Freshman):</b><br>Gaining valuable experience as a redshirt during the 2006 season, Andrew appeared in eight games on the mound for the Tigers in 2007. Mintun tossed a combined eight innings, allowing eight earned runs for a 9.00 ERA. Mintun finished the season with a 1-0 record. He picked up that victory in the Tigers' 12-10 comeback victory over UC Davis on Apr. 5, as Andrew tossed a scoreless eighth frame, allowing the Tigers to rally for 10 runs in the bottom of the eighth. Mintun's longest outing of the season was also his first, when Andrew held Cal State Northridge to an unearned run on four hits in two innings as the Tigers fell to the Matadors, 11-7, on Feb. 2.<b>2006 (Redshirt Freshman):</b><br>Andrew used his redshirt option during the 2006 season.<b>High School:</b><br>A Stockton native, Mintun graduated from St. Mary's High School in 2005, where he was a pitcher and catcher for the Rams. During his junior season, Andrew was named the most inspirational player. Mintun played under Pacific head coach Ed Sprague during the 2003 season, when he coached at St. Mary's HS. In the classroom, Mintun earned the Presidential Scholarship and the Senior Year English Award during his final year at St. Mary's HS.<b>Personal:</b><br>Andrew Mintun in the son of David Mintun and Berit Gundersen. He has two siblings, Daniel (17) and Kirsten (11). In his fifth year at Pacific, Andrew is majoring in sport sciences and hopes to become a physical therapist.
